Winston Churchill’s Cigar Stash: A Smoker’s Dream

Winston Churchill wasn’t just famous for his speeches—he was also one of history’s most legendary cigar smokers. But did you know that he had a personal stash of over 4,000 cigars at any given time?

Churchill’s love for cigars began during his time in Cuba in the 1890s, where he developed a taste for fine Cuban tobacco. From then on, he was rarely seen without a cigar in hand. His favorites? Romeo y Julieta and La Aroma de Cuba, both of which he smoked daily.

During World War II, his cigar habit became so well-known that even his enemies took note. It’s said that Nazi intelligence believed Churchill’s cigars were a source of his confidence and power, leading to a bizarre assassination attempt—they supposedly tried to send him an explosive cigar! (Spoiler: It never reached him.)
